OPTIWISE at IAME 2024

We are thrilled to announce that our partners, Armand Djoumessi from UNIGE, and Vendela Santén & Anna L.C. Hedén from RISE, participated in the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) Conference 2024. The event took place in Valencia from June 26th to 28th.

Armand delivered a compelling speech on “Assessing New Propulsion Technologies: The Case of Wind-Assisted Vessels” and presented the preliminary outcomes of the OPTIWISE project, a collaborative effort with our partner RISE. Vendela and Anna also presented results from the OPTIWISE project, focusing on "An Economic Assessment of Wind Propulsion in Shipping - A Holistic Performance Prediction Approach Applied on a VLCC with Wing Sails."

The accepted abstract for Armand’s presentation is titled "Assessing New Propulsion Technologies: The Case of Wind-Assisted Vessels" (IAME2024_2245). The authors include Alessio Tei, Armand Djoumessi*, Vendela Santén, Per Wide, and Claudio Ferrari.

The accepted abstract for Vendela’s and Anna’s presentation is titled “Economic Assessment of Wind Propulsion in Shipping – A Holistic Performance Prediction Approach Applied on a VLCC with Wing Sails” (IAME2024_2250). The authors include Vendela Santén*, Per Wide, Frederik Gerhardt, Gabriele Mazza, Anna Hedén, and Sara Kilicaslan.
