Oceanwings®: wind tunnel tests at the IAT Saint-Cyr, France

We are happy to share that our partner AYRO carried out wind tunnel tests at the IAT St-Cyr on a one-fifteen scale model of their Oceanwings®. The aerodynamic polars were tested giving them confirmation about the aerodynamic performance of their system. CFD / wind tunnel correlations have begun and should be completed by the end of the year. The aim of these tests is to validate their numerical tools and thus the robustness of their Oceanwings® aerodynamic design and ship’s related calculations.

Besides, the fluid-structure co-simulation part will start in September in partnership with MSC Software. Initial advanced studies have shown the software's potential for numerically representing the deformation of membranes and masts under aerodynamic loading.
